If you GOOGLE "The Single Shot Action Patent Site" youŽll find many patent drawings.

For example: https://www.google.com/patents/US4879827

If you search eBay for field 1877, you should see some action casting kits being sold by rodney4477. He has several action styles for sale.

Rodney has been making castings and kits for a very long time. Good starting point if you have the skills needed. Plenty of work though......

Re: WTB Or Otherwise Acquire Single Shot Plans

The Field patent of 1877 covered both the tilting block (Martini style) and the true falling block designs.
You also mention Kipplauf.
What action type are you looking to duplicate?
I agree with bouldersmith, those castings need a ton of work to finish to any standard.
You may consider simply buying a Field actioned gun or maybe building a Kipplauf on a single barrel trap gun - a project I myself plan as my first build attempt.
The beauty of buying an existing gun is that so much of a gun's value is placed in the barrel. There are a lot of great actions with poor barrels around at good prices.
Of course, if it is the challenge of the build you are after, that's understandable too.

That link for patents is money, thanks.

I'm contemplating using a single shot shotgun action but am inclined to think the castings are too brittle for anything beyond pistol.

Re: WTB Or Otherwise Acquire Single Shot Plans

The casting are from 8620 steel which color case hardens nicely and is not brittle at all. Ruger investment casts all of the actions they make.
