Want to buy .450 number two N.E. loading dies
|
|
I am still in need of a set of dies to load .450 #2 Nitro Express shells, let me know by P.M. if you have a set for sale or know about a set that I might be able to buy. Thanks, Bob

Try Wattle Grove Park gunshop in Queensland, they are advertising a set of RCBS 450 No.2 dies.
Never dealt with this gun shop but they advertise quite a bit. With exchange rate might be worthwhile?

Mike, Yes, he still has them but uses them to load for his .450, he is not interested in selling them I'm sure. Thanks for the info though. I hope to be able to find a set for sale at a reasonable price, but if not, I will just sell the barrels and the reamer I already have. It seems that this caliber is so rare that anything I find for it is either no longer available or terribly expensive. There is really no justification for charging $300.00 and up for a set of reloading dies. Bob

It's a great answer to a non existent question now days. I never saw why it was any better than the original 450 NE.
Brass and dies are very $pendy for them. But the do look cool and bigger than the mere 3.25" of the other one.

I think I have a set. I will check as soon as the game I am watching reaches half time. BTW, I would like to take a second to mention that AKMike is one of the most helpful guys I have ever come into contact with on many of the forums I haunt.

I went down and looked. I found 3 sets of dies for 3 different versions of British 500/450 cartridge, but not the set of of 450 No 2. I will look some more when I get a chance.

Joel, are one of those 500/450's for the 1 9/16" carbine?

Yes, although in truth the cartridge really is only 1 1/2"s. Martyn Robinson formed the cases for me and the cartridges I loaded dies with the dies worked great in a W-R Field action rifle I have.

AkMike, Not really, he was trying to buy a pair of .450 #2 barrels and a matching reamer from me. The deal fell through because he wanted me to fill out all kinds of import forms and falsify the values on what I was selling him. I refused to deal in that way with him so the whole thing fell through after me answering DOZENS of his emails. Run away, don't walk! Bob
