Re: Henry Atkins 275 Rigby Mauser

I purchased and it's an awesome rifle. It was listed as a Custom German Hunting Rifle and the seller didn't know what it was. I'll be posting pictures soon.

Moosemind

I was watching that sale, I'm curious how you found it was by Henry Atkin? The Seller said the maker's name had been removed, I thought it looked like a Westly Richards.

Nice rifle and welcome to the forum.

Re: Henry Atkins 275 Rigby Mauser

Hi Moosemind,

Nice rifle! It seems to be "only" (a BIG only!!)a factory Mauser barreled action, dressed by H. Atkins. Like the Rigbys were...
Congrats!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Re: Henry Atkins 275 Rigby Mauser

The Mauser Oberndorf Serial number on the receiver ring and in the barrel channel on the stock puts it in early 1910. Rigby was the sole importer of Mauser to England until 1912. The 25 that was the last two numbers of the long caliber specification on the barrel under the stock and when I first look at it thought it was the year. I will get the information on this rifle from Rigby when they are back from Holiday on January 02, 2018.
