I recently bought a cape gun. Made in Belgium. Made a sulfur cast of the chamber. The dimensions follow in inches: length = 1.41 35.8mm cal = .43 neck of cartridge = .457 base of cartridge = .475 rim diameter = .535 rim thickness = .073 I went through the Manual for cartridge conversions but found nothing really close to the measurements. Any and all help is appreciated. |

Seems like it’s between the Austrian 11.15x36R Werndl cartridge and a 450 No.1 Rifle cartridge (sometimes called the 450 Kangaroo Rifle cartridge. |

The 450 #1 carbine and the 450 Kangaroo are the closest that I have found. Thank you Huvius for your help. |

Mauser 1871 11.15x37mmR has been tossed up. I can't find any case dimensions for it. Anyone know them? |

Caspar - Only from the Handloaders manual(you have looked?) and Hoyem V 2 I hope this helps There would be appreciable variation at that time, the more common cartridges were usual in Cape Guns but nothing can be taken for granted Good luck TH44 |

That's the only photo or drawing that I've seen. Not the round since it's necked. Mine is straight. Thanks. |
