WW 2 cartridge collectors

this pics showing german soldiers after the battle of france 1940 with some very unusual cartridges found on the battlefield. the only rational explanation is they find some 11x59R Gras or Vicker's cartridges with full metall jacket's outdated for decades but the cartridges locking longer like some Nitro/Blackpowder express round's.

we will never know

Definitely big case bottleneck large bore thin rim -- looks like sporting ammunition.
With the rag top sporting car in the background, it might be a wealthy fellow's yard.

Their hands, they are blackened!

Appear to be BPE's & likely paper patched.

Re: WW 2 cartridge collectors

the 11x59R Gras or Vickers (with full metal jacket bullet) will be possible but extremely outdated in 1940

but maybe something found in the baggage of a gentleman dont think about this before.
