I'll post up some bush knives and such, but in the meantime... Not a blade but you don't forge a blade without one. Started with a 5 lb chunk of 1045 round bar stock. In the forge it goes... Hustling to the anvil... After forging the flats, punching the handle hole w/ 10 pound maul... Hole punched, next step the drift {widening the hole}... Hole drifted... After normalizing, reheating, the quench... Pickling... Hafted and ready to go. 4 1/2 pound head... |

I have a 2 1/2 pounder to forge now that hunting season is over. Then back as some bush knives. |
