Greener Magic

Well W.W.Greener are at it again, making the world's best boxlock shotguns without question. Bloody show-offs!

Check this out!

I have managed to accumulate a bunch of Greener-made guns over the years, the best of which is a Grade G2 from the Golden Age (including original oak-and-leather case with leather trade label). Although the modern G Grade in that youtube clip has more spectacular engraving than the finer style of a century past, the tiny subtle ebony inlays are an enduring feature.

Re: Greener Magic

Who owns Greener? Is it independent Art of a larger group? Has it always been trading? Or resurrected?

Re: Greener Magic

Loverly indeed.
I own zero Greeners, just a cheap Field 12 London gun.
It's nice and shoots very well.

Re: Greener Magic

My Greener is a side by side plain jane Empire E17 I think.

Purchased second hand for a "Fat Lady" type double rifle conversion project. The gunsmith no longer made them. So enjoying it as a shotgun instead.

Who owns Greener?

Apart from a relatively short period under Webley ownership (1965 to 1985), the Greener gun-making firm has been a family business from 1829 to the present day.
Currently owned by Graham Greener (great grandson of William Wellington Greener) and associates.

Complete history of the firm is on their webpage here.

Very nice indeed, certainly amazingly well executed engraving.

Matt.
