Lightweight 8 bore

Hi Guys

I saw this nice 8 bore at the recent Birmingham Arm Fair and could not resist it

Recently restored to a high standard, nice engraving an percussion style fences

Probably made in the Birmingham trade and retailed by Sykes (several smiths of that name around Sheffield)
Wide rib is attractive

Third bite, reblacked lever and hammer

I did not realise until Posted on another forum it was a 10 bore originally
explains the light weight
New Nitro proofs

Nice 2 stub Damascus barrel

Bore is perfect

Comparison with my 10 bore Ball gun shows similar size

Weight is 7 1/2 lbs, Light for a goose gun but I will not be putting monster loads through it

barrel 32 inches

Comments as always welcome

I like it. Very light! But at least you know you can trust it because it passed proof. I like that abor England and Germany gunsmithing.

Am interested in the 10b ball fun too, if there’s not a thread already?

Beautiful Gun, really like the look of it, sure is crazy light, some double 12's go 8lbs, my 12 bore Tolley rifle is near 15lbs & my 8 bore Tolley double is 13.5lbs !
