Picked this little shotgun up at auction and am looking for help with working up loads. It is a Belgian gun chambered in 10.7 mm which I take to be 44XL shot. I have yet to do a chamber cast but I see a 303 and 38-40 cases drop in and it looks like headspace is good with either. So, I’m looking for ideas of what to use as a base brass. Don’t have any 44mag brass and guess that would be the one to try. When I say it is little, I mean it is TINY!! |

I had one of these. Miniature action for sure. I'll look at my notes when I get home - but if I recall I'd been cutting .410 cases and roll crimping. .444 cases might be right too. Cheers Tinker |

Have just been reading online and looks like 44-40 brass is a good option. There was also a roundball load for these as well. One of these lined to a rook cartridge would sure be fun though. |

How long is the chamber? I've used .444Marlin cases in my .410, loading 12gr. Unique, a thin card, then .410 plastic wad, cut off just a tich short of the mouth, then fill with shot - 1/2oz. then gas check cup -down on shot, then crimped in a .444 Seating die. A .44 mag seating die would also work, adjusted correctly. The patterns were better than factory 3" or 2 1/2" which I usually used in it. The same load or type of load might work just fine in a straightened and trimmed .303 or .30/40 case. |

Huvius try this! I have an old H&R 410 marked .410 / 12mm, they can also fire the 44 XL shot case. http://www.fourten.org.uk/mwpre410.html Cheers 93x64mm |
