" In the year 1939 Charles, Count of Flanders and Prince of Belgium, (1903 – 1983), the brother of the Belgian King Leopold III., appointed the Liege gunmakers Auguste Lebeau-Courally, famous as purveyors for the Imperial Russian court, to build two field guns, intended as a gift. ...
Charles was installed as Prince Regent in 1945 by the provisional government to replace his exiled brother, and also his gift was finally finished: A pair of fine sidelock ejectors for the French General Charles de Gaulle ...
The makers kindly confirmed that the serial number 43041 is the number two of this same pair."

Re: guns at auctions

the old single shot guns made from older blackpowder military rifles dont have many enthusiast today
interesting history, than made for export into the colonys because they were cheap and - being single shot and smooth barrel - inferior to any police and military rifle of the colonial power. other sold at home were bought probably most times by farmer and so called field warden for crop protection

this ones are better made because of the checkering

this is probably not the .410/ 36 ga pinfire shotshell but a smaller one iirc, called 10 mm pinfire shotshell most times

"A SCARCE 8-BORE PINFIRE DOUBLE-BARRELLED FOWLING-GUN, MODEL 'LEFAUCHEUX PATENT', serial no. 6934,

https://auctions.holtsauctioneers.com/as...685&image=5

sold by a german dealer "Fischer in Lübeck" this double came from sweden. till now I found no evidence that such large shotguns were used in germany but they were of course in use on the cost for geese in northern europe

"WESTLEY RICHARDS, LONDON

for between 1866-1871, with 30in. damascus barrels, white metal bead at extreme tip of top-rib with lip to bottom rib, the top-rib signed 'PATENT' and 'WESTLEY RICHARDS, 170 NEW BOND ST. Thanks lancaster, for the gauge data. I used it to write a small gauge calculator. For example a .410" diameter bore would project to be ~67.5 gauge

I think the word is Inclusive? Well, one of them, anyway.
It's ridiculous for a hunting gun, but might do well for home defense, especially when presented at your trial for murdering an "almost" innocent criminal.

https://www.marambat-malafosse.com/en/lo...sy?search=&

"Extraodrinaire shotgun with system and barrel by Isaac Samuel armurier in Paris. Calibre 16. Damascus barrel of 750 mm long octagonal then round. Signature "....Samuel patent of invention without gas loss with safety stop" in gothic letters. A lever of underguard located at the front of the trigger guard induces the arming of the hammer, the rotation of the cylinder and the advance of the barrel when using its terminal ring one makes it swivel forwards. A tilting part is positioned at the air gap and ensures the locking and plating towards the rear of the cylinder, while allowing the barrel to pass through. A side trap door uncovers the mechanism, in position of opening the cylinder leaves its housing by swivelling on the right while remaining integral with the carcass by the intermediary of its articulated axis. Collective extractor in the form of a star of extraction and rotation of the removable cylinder by hand. English stock. Sheet metal butt plate. Functional mechanism. Set having turned to grey tobacco. A very rare piece, probably made in a few copies. Worthy of a hunting curiosity cabinet."
