.450/400 from Hornady....

Recently I read that Hornady will make factory ammo for the .450/400 - is this load on the market yet?

Yes. Demand was underestimated and the first run disappeared quickly. They're loading more now. It has been tested by CIP in Europe, but I don't know if any has actually been exported yet. They're also going to load .450 3 1/4" Nitro Express and .404 Jeffery. Bullets and brass for all is of their own manufacture.

400NE,
Do you have any idea of when the 450 brass will be available? I have an Alex Henry being rebarreled back into 450 BPE and will need some brass soon.

I don't, I only know that it's been announced, which means that it will happen. I assume that it will be a while. The .450/.400 was announced over a year ago, and is just now becoming available. Their .400 bullets are also available now, and the brass will be along shortly I imagine. BTW, they will also be making bullets for the .450 in the correct 480 grain weight. Be aware though that getting their factory ammunition out in sufficient quantity will obviously have priority, and that brass and bullets will only become available when the surplus is available. I have new Hornady brass in .450/.400 and 9.3X74R, and its good stuff. It's worth waiting for and cheaper than the alternatives.

That's what I was thinking of also. I'm disappointed with some of the Jamison and Bertram brass we got for our Sniders and hope this will be better quality.
Thank you for your opinion!

Haven't tried the Jamison, but I'd almost rather do without than tolerate the Bertram. This Hornady stuff is as good as any I've used.
