Which Bell & Carlson stock will fit on a Zastava M70 458 win mag, the Mauser 98, Sporter Style, Long Action (#2193) or the Mauser/Interarms MK X, Sporter Style, Long Action (#2197)? Zastava, Remington 798 and Interarms MK X are the same gun? |

Excellent question. I am also interested in the answer. I do have a new Zastava 9.3x62 chambered barrel, that needs only a minor amount of work to fit my spate FN 'solid-side' action. |

I have received the reply from B&C look like I need a Mauser/Interarms MK X, Sporter Style. Here's the reply from them: Mauser 98 possibly fits the following but may require bedding: Mauser 98 Browning Safari FN Parker Hale 1200 Santa Barbara FN Browning Supreme Centurian Carl Gustav Rem 798 w/Side Safety Huskqvarna Our stocks fit only the SPORTERIZED German & American Actions. DOES NOT FIT MILITARY ACTIONS. MILITARY ACTIONS HAVE A DIFFERENT BARREL STYLE AND FLOORPLATE Our stocks do not fit the Timney adjustable trigger without MAJOR modifications. All of the stocks listed below use a floorplate and not a blind magazine. If your stock has a 1 3/8” front receiver ring and is 7 7/8” center to center on the trigger guard screws with a bolt safety you have a Mauser 98. We offer the Varmint Tactical w/ block 2948 and Medalist 2193. Overall length of floorplate is 8 1/2". Width of the mag is: Front .910 & back 1.100. If your stock has these dimensions, with a side safety and adjustable trigger, you have a Interarms Mark X. The Medalist 2197 is the stock you need. Width of the mag is: Front .910 & back 1.100. When using a bolt shroud safety on an Interarms, use a 2193 If your stock has a front ring 1 1/4" and from center of screw to center of screw on the trigger guard screws is 7 5/8" your action will fit our Mauser 96 stocks. That stock is the Medalist 2194. -Our stocks are for the step barrel. -Stock weights are approximately 2.34 pounds |

I bought a Mark X action McMillan which said it was a drop in...but required work in the floor plate area as it was set up for a different floor plate and had to be filled. Also, the bolt handle slot has to be cut. This was for a .375 not a 458, but... |
