BGRC National and Victoria website

http://www.biggamerifleclub.com.au/

Established 1983

The Big Game Rifle Club of Victoria was founded in 1983 by a small group of enthusiasts in Melbourne. The first shoot, held on the 100th anniversary of the Field Rifle Trials in London, attracted a good turnout of collectors and shooters, and the club was off and running. The Victorian branch was soon followed by an avid group from New South Wales. Queensland was not far behind and now boasts a number of branches across the state.

Re: BGRC National and Victoria website

Unfortunately the national website doesn't appear to be updated on a regular basis.

Any truth to the rumour that this years nationals are at Majura range in the ACT?

Are any members intending to go along?

Re: BGRC National and Victoria website

The national BGRC site is a load of and is abt 4 years out of date. SSAA (aka sporting sheep shooters assn) is grossly deficient in the matter and requires extra money for this discipline plus compulsory basic membership, thus a basic of $100 pa plus range fees for no result. The NSW mob need to get their act together as the (metro Sydney) Malabar range is only certified for 8mm max or cast lead rounds above such bore. That range has non existent facilities for BGRC participation and is shuttled around at whim. The closest range for those Nitro above 8mm are at Mudgee or Hilltop (when complete), both abt 2 hrs drive.

SSAA are a pack of "tactical" camo wankers in the matter and frankly they don't care.
FWIW a senior office holder has resigned in disgust citing the generic concerns expressed above.
