My buddy's wife did just fine with her .270 and 130gr. TTSX on plains game, just as he did with his 8x68.

Jack O'Connor shot grizzlies he encountered on sheep hunts with a .270 because that's what he was carrying - probably with the 130 gr bullet. I'm not sure how cleanly they were killed though.
