I got the word this morning. The Lord Derby Eland I took in Cameroon after Christmas last year was awarded the best trophy taken with a member of the Zimbabwe Proffesional Hunter and Guide Association outside of Zimbabwe.
I’m pretty excited. I took it with Mayo Oldiri Safari and Guave Johnson was my PH. They want me to put it in for SCI but I’ve resited the temptation so far. Guave lives near Vic Fills in Zimbabwe.

I love bushbucks! Also cape buffalo. I’m pretty focused on those two. With the exception of one situating and a bongo, hopefully in the not to distant future.
I think bushbucks are the most challenging common plains game to hunt and I decided I wanted to become really good at it. I sort of get the 10,000 hours of doing something to “master it” idea but that seems a bit hard to monitor for hunting so I decided I wanted to take 100 bushbuck Rams as my goal. I’m at th 50 Ram mark after the last trip. Just 50 more to go.

Rell that is a cracking Eland. I read Sarg's comment and wondered what he was on about in regards to the bushbuck then looked at the rest of the photos. Great comment.
