375 H&H 300 gr RN bullets

I shot off some 300 gr RN bullets and they made a 10" group
at 150 yds so I brought the target back to 100 yds and it didn't make any difference. Has anybody shot these 300 gr RN bullets with better luck?

300 gr Hornady RN Interlock bullets with 68.0 grs of IMR-4064 is a very accurate load in my Ruger M77 Magnum in .375 H&H. (I haven't tried the new 300 gr RN Interbonds yet.)
Personally, IMHO, if you're getting 10 inch groups at 150 yds I think the problem lies elsewhere besides the bullets. A broken scope, loose scope mounts, action bedding, etc. could be some of the causes. Have you gotten decent groups with this rifle using other bullets?

Yes I have shot 3/4" groups at 150 yds with Serria BT 300 gr bullets. Thats why I question the RN bullets.
They were Hornady interlocks.

You know what you said to check my scope. Well I did it is OK but my stock screws were loose. You know the two screws that hold the action and barrel to the stock. I guess they worked loose over the years from the recoil. They could shore cause a 10" group. They were just coming out about two turns. I should have noticed them from handleing the rifle but they weren't that loose yet.

Sometimes it's the little things that are easy to overlook.
I'm glad you found what may be the problem. Let us know how it shoots after you tighten the action screws and try it again. I've found the Hornady 300 gr RN Interlocks to be very accurate in three different rifles; a Ruger No. 1 that I no longer own, my Ruger M77 Magnum and a friend's Ruger M77 Magnum. All three rifles shot the above listed 68.0 gr IMR-4064 load into small groups (usually 3 or 5 shots around an inch at 100 yards).

I'll load some of those Hornady RN's up and try my Sako 375 H&H with them probably next week. Then I'll let you know the results. Maybe before then.
I use IMR4350 powder.

Before you use the rifle again, check for a crack behind the tang. A crack might appear to be a faint line which does not follow the grain of the wood from the tang screw extending into the pistol grip - it is important to check both the top and underside of the stock. Although less likely, also check for a forearm crack on the underside of the stock. If everything looks normal, I suggest you take the action out of the stock, and with light outward pressure in the magazine recess see if a crack appears.

Thanks Boomer I checked but no cracks.
Well then I went to the range and at 100 yds I shot the bulls eye. Very tight group. Those loose screws were the problem.
She is back to normal my Sako 375 H&H.
What I shot was those Hornady RN 300gr interlock bullets.
