3 in a row with the scope prone was good shooting. Shooting in that wind, offhand too, was surprised he hit any. Good stuff.

His load 1,550fps with 300gr. jacketed, is close to my load I used on 2 elk, years ago. 1,584 with 320gr. cast HP's from a .45 Colt Model 94 Winchester.

My load was with Ross Sefried's .44 mag. pressure load in a .45 Colt. I used RP brass as it was the strongest brass in that calibre. He used Fed cases,
but they showed too much expansion in the loading ramp cuttout in the back of the chamber in my rifle. The RP brass showed 0 expansion there with the same loads.
25gr. W296 (which is H110) with 300gr. and 320gr. cast bullets.
