Thats interesting history. I just purchased a nice Henry rifle,,,,,NOOO, not an original!!!!(I wish) It was made by Uberti and chambered in 45 LC. No original Henrys were chambered in this round because it was develobed in 1872, after the originasl Henry rifles were out of production. I found it at a local pawn shop. I got it because it will shoot the same ammo as my Vaquero. cant wait to try out the ladder sight like Old Gus did!!! He hit plumb center!!!!......Ed

Taylor has one of those for Cowboy Action events, Ed. Nice rifle that shoots very well.
He also has one of the Colt Lightnings (Uberti or Pedersoli), but the carbine model. it's also very nice shooting rifle - and very fast on multiple targets.

Oh, I dont go to the cowboy shoots, I am not real fast, as a matter of fact my wife says i'm half-fast???

On a practical basis, how does having no forend and needing to hold the barrel and tubular magazine, how practically does that work?
I would like one, but not marked for a railroad, as a fun lever action.

John. Practical?!!!!, No but if we all were practical I guess we would be shooting those black plastic stocked production guns!!! What fun is that??? The rifle does feel a bit strange when sighting it but I do think I can get used to it. Uberti did make a few transitional rifles. As I understand it there were few original "transitional" Henry rifles made with a side loading gate. Uberti made a few but added a forearm also.
