CZ 550 stock on BRNO ZKK 602.

Hello!

I wanted to ask if anyone knows if a CZ550 Magnum stock fits a BRNO ZKK 602?

I'm thinking on replacing the rather plain wooden stock of my 602 in .375 with a GRS sporter laminate stock, but I don't want to spend 300 bucks on a stock only to find out that it wont fit my rifle.

I did some inletting on stocks before so I'm no stranger to minor to medium fitting work on wood, but I'd rather avoid MAJOR inletting work.

Thanks!

Re: CZ 550 stock on BRNO ZKK 602.

Woldan,
I have used a CZ550 standard length stock to replace a ZKK600 stock.
There is a little little work to do, but basically just relief work. Mine I had to do around the front of the magazine well on the new stock, the 550 action itself is only very slightly different - not much but it caused the action to rock initially.
There is a wider spacer on the front screw between the bottom metal & the action on the 6oo's so unless your replacement stock comes with this new spacer then it will have to be redone bigger as well.
With the 602 & 550 magnum stocks they will both have the barrel lug arrangement, where as the standard length action will require the 600 to take off its barrel bolt arrangement as opposed to the CZ550 stock which won't have that arrangement.
Apart from that it is pretty much drop in, but I'd still do a bedding job as well for a .375 & up

Thank you, that's invaluable information right there, 93x64!

That sounds actually pretty promising - as far as I know the trigger on the 550 is installed on the action instead the bottom metal like on the ZKK - that's not an issue? I thought if anything needs to be done it would be relief work in the trigger area because of that major difference.

With the spacer, do you mean that little round collet for the front action screw?

Woldan,
I didn't have any issues with the trigger area as the CZ stock side of things has a bigger trigger mechanism overall.
Yes you are correct the collet is what I was referring to, sorry for my lack of correct terminology. This part is what you will need to also get with the new CZ stock, otherwise just relieve the old ZKK collet - but it is a fair bit larger

I replaced a BRNO 602 stock with a 'FANCY AMERICAN WALNUT CZ 550 SAFARI STOCK INCLUDES "F" BLOCK (BEDDING BLOCK)' and it fit better than the original.

Brno ZKK 600 drops right into the Bell and Carlson stock for CZ 550.

Would it be the same for a ZKK 602. I have one in 375 and was wanting a B&C stock for it, but wasn't sure if it would just drop right in.

That B&C stock would have too short an action area for a ZKK 602. If the standard length 600 action fits, the 602 would be too large/long, would it not?

Re: CZ 550 stock on BRNO ZKK 602.

I have put my Brno 602 action into a Bell and Carlson CZ550 magnum stock.
It fit straight in and screwed up out of the box, but i had a gunsmith do a final fit and finish. The action screw holes were ever so slightly off and was worried the action would bare up against the action screw under recoil and wasn't sure on the recoil lug contact. Gunsmith relieved the rear of the stock and made sure the action bedded properly on the front lug. He remarked that it was an easy fit up and was very pleased with the stock and fit, as am I.
