Steel Action

I dont know if there already are a post about the Steel Action rifle from Germany.
But what do you think about it?

Good wood, don't like the stock shape though, especially in the wrist, grip area. Looks very straight, good straight-line recoil with properly mounted scope, no cheep slapping.
Interesting action.
How much $$ for this simple, Plain-Jane rifle.

Interesting rifle. I understand straight pull rifles are very popular because they allow quicker follow up shots than regular bolt rifles and semi-automatic rifles are not allowed.
I am not sure why pump action rifles are not popular. They are quick to operate.
I have a 1910 Ross which is a straight pull which is a very nice looking rifle. I also have a Remington 760 pump which is not as nice looking but it is accurate, reliable, and quick.

Last one I held in Australia had a ticket price of $2500 or near about with a very plain stock that appeared starved of oil or final finish. The HS web site shows some higher grade timber but I’d expect to pay a premium on them.
I liked the action and manual cocking system but overall found it a very bulky, clubby, piece. GRS stocks are available if you want to adjust the ergonomics. As far as traditional timber and steel straight pulls go the Heym SR 30 is still the pick of the bunch in traditional elegance but comes at an entry price of $4000 rather than $2500.
The other sleeper is the Rossler Titan 16 but it does have a couple of plastic parts and a forward positioned bolt handle to upset purists.

In Sweden they will cost about 25.000 SEK, its about €2300..
The stock is realy nice to hold, but yepp I agree, it does not looking very nice.
That I see as a positive thing is that they have integrated piccatinny mounts.
