Rhenus

Do you know this carbine? It's a Rhenus of the 22 LR that sells me a companion for $ 117. Can you tell me something about her?

Re: Rhenus

Another question ... the viewfinder is not a big thing and I had thought to put this other viewer. The use that I will give to the chaperone will be playful because its use for hunting is prohibited. I want to replace the viewfinder with a Nikko Stirling Mountmaster 4-12 × 50. What do you think?

http://www.photosize.com/

A webpage offering free photo resizing. Very large photos distort the forums so a photo or image of approximately 1024 pixels or less wide is advisable.

NE recommends LANDSCAPE images be resized to no more than 1024 pixels in width.

PORTRAIT photos should have a width of less than 1024 as the height of the image will need a lot of scrolling depending on the resultant image height. NE recommends approximately 600 pixels for a PORTRAIT image. Depending on its height.

The webpage works by allowing you to select an oversize image, select its new width in pixels, and then the image to downloaded to your PC. You then need to upload the smaller image to a web image hosting site or other net account.

Re: Rhenus

That is not necessary, I can resize the images with "paint" and then upload them through an image hosting application.

Changed, obviously it was not my intention to bother in the forum. Sorry if I have bothered or offended someone. Thanks for the observation.

The Maple Leaf sticker on the belly is interesting, Ovny & with a walnut stock. I have never heard of this rifle.

The larger scope will be much nicer to use than the cheap little .22 sc0ope. Also, it has an adjustable objective, necessary for focusing at closer ranges than most high powered scopes will focus.

Re: Rhenus

Thank you, Daryl, the truth is that I'm looking forward to a carbine carabiner, and the truth is that the 22 Long Rifle cartridge can have little use in Spain. Surely acquire the viewer indicated but I do not know how it will behave in terms of quality.

Just posted for information on resizing images so they fit on a page. A free online service for people unable to resize photos using s/w on their pcs.

A lot of cameras now produce excessively sized images which old forums like this do not cope well with.

Thanks for resizing!

Thank you for the information.I think mobile phones allow you to choose the size of the photograph you are going to make.

Re: Rhenus

Many, if not most cameras do this as well, in the menu or settins. The 640/480 size is most computer friendly.

And now I am unable to find the option to change the size of the images I take with my mobile camera. My mobile is a Lg G5 and it has enough camera options.

Re: Rhenus

And speaking of the caliber 22 Long Rifle, what ammunition allows to make good runs with a carbine of these characteristics ?, I have seen that the Remington Yellow Jacket ammunition is not very accurate perhaps because of the low weight of its projectile and the high speed of it.

Re: Rhenus

Depends on the .22 LR rifle. My own .22 Ruger 10-22 loves Remington Yellow Jackets as-does my new (to me) Anchutz. both also shoot very well sub 1.5CM) at 50 meters with Winchester Super X HP's. Both rifles do better than this, with Ely match ammo.

Most rifles shoot well with Winchester Power Point .22 HP ammo. Browning ammo appears loaded with the Winchester Power Point HP, but is advertised at 1,450fps. It does not shoot as well in my rifles as-does Win. PP.

Every .22 LR rifle is it's own boss. You must try different ammo to find what YOUR rifle likes. Many .22 LR rifles have distinct preferences in ammo make and style.

This said, most .22 LR rifles prefer standard velocity match ammo over high velocity stuff.

I hope that translates with the program as I intended it.

Re: Rhenus

Perfectly explained, his is to try several brands and models of ammunition and see which of them is better carbine.

Re: Rhenus

Yes If you can find Lapua .22LR match ammo, that will likely be the most accurate.

Hi, I would like to know if the Savage 22 LR carbine chargers would be compatible with my Rhenus. I send you photographs.

Re: Rhenus

I have found this charger in Brownells and it looks a lot like it.

If you could clear my doubt I would be very grateful. Thanks.

Re: Rhenus

it looks like Rhenus was a post war trademark of Eduard Kettner in Köln and Ketnner was selling different foreign made guns under this label.
Ketnner dont exist anymore in germany but is still in business in austria https://www.kettner.com/at_de/waffen/gebrauchtwaffen.html. I found M 98 hunting rifles made in former jugoslavia sold under the Rhenus brand and this 22 WMR rifle close to yours https://waffenforum.gun-forum.de/thread/42818-lakefield-rhenus-22wmr/

its a stamped with Rhenus .22WMR - Made by L.F.A in Canada
so this may explain the maple leaf sticker

"Since Lakefield Arms was established in 1969, it's been manufacturing light firearms for customers across the world.

Now called Savage Arms Canada, the firearm manufacturer opened its doors to tours on Saturday (June 17) to show people the process of how guns are made. Ticket sale proceeds were donated to the United Way.

The company Savage Arms was established in Utica, N.Y. in 1894. In 1995, Lakefield Arms was picked up by them, and they became Savage Arms Canada."
https://www.mykawartha.com/news-story/73...-guns-are-made/

so it looks like your gun was made by Lakefield Arms in canada, today Savage Arms Canada
the little gun was probabyl made on special order for Eduard Kettner in Köln/ germany , than found the way to spain.

Re: Rhenus

and yes, the chance is very high the savage magazine is the right stuff for your rifle

deep in my brain is the memory that rhenus was an old firm in Suhl before WW 2
could be Kettner was bought this firm sometimes before the war so they own this old name

Thanks for the information. Very interesting the history of this carbine and very appealing the Rhenus in 22 WCF. As soon as I can, I'll buy a couple of chargers for the Rhenus, since the one with 5 cartridges falls short and ends up having to feed it every so little time.
