Gentlemen. I know that there is several of you guys that use a Brno or CZ action (600,602 or 550) either as an original rifle or in any kind of custom configuration. I use both the 600 and 602s. I can only speak for my self but for me the ultimate action is the original old one with the integrated peep. I can't think of a better action/rifle for a good hard working safaririfle for an affordable price. In my part of the world these integrated peep ones happens to be scarce and harder to find each day. Both of my custom 602s (375 H&H and 416 Rigby) has the newer actions without those sought after peeps. And this has bothered me ever since I bought them. Therefore I was very happy and pleased when I got to know John McLaughlin on a rifle site on Facebook, and he told me he could make his "Rigby style peeps" to fit a Brno action. Halleluja. For me this is not a second best option but in my mind a top grade nice and "historic" upgrade to our great rifles. What do you think? It looks great huh Btw. I KNOW that these peeps work even better than they look! Can't wait to try them out. Certainly a fancy piece if kit there Rino! It would also be nice if we could make the CZ 550's look so much better by getting a bolt shroud that looks like the old ZKK series & that it the firing pin assembly stripped down fully like a Mauser! |

Hi Rino, Agree with you about and like the original peep sight of the earlier ZKK series. But I definitely don't like the Rigby style peep sight on the cocking piece of any bolt action rifle. And this is because it increases the weight of the firing pin system, so it also increases the lock time. Not good to me. Instead I would put a peep sight mounted in the CZ 550 mounting rail of the rear bridge. Recknagel makes this peep sight. By the way, I have one in a Weaver type base in my FN Akah Mauser .30-06. And works very well! The Recknagel link is: https://www.recknagel.de/Joomla/images/stories/Downloads/Recknagel_Zubehoerkatalog_9_Internet.pdf It is on page 7. I bought mine through NECG (New England Custom Guns). I can recommend it. Good luck! PH |

That Rigby style sight looks the goods but I too am not keen on the firing pin mounted peeps for the given reasons. I have NECG peep for my CZ550. These are actually made by NECG for Recknagle. I have fund with the NECG peep sight you need a higher front sight. |

Thanks for helping with that link jgrabow Quote: The solution may be to mount a m70 style shroud/safety? I have done on all my ZKK 600 and 602s. Mine are made by Ing Ragnar Hansen, Vestfossen Norway wich happens to be 6 min drive from my place. They cost a few dollars but worth every penny. Btw- The rifle on the picture isn't mine. I just got this picture from the manufacturer of this peep sight. When it comes to lock time I must be the first to admit that I'm not that good shot to benefit from shorter lock time. I will shoot just as bad with or without this peep. But I'm not that bad shot I think. I can still hit the wall of a barn- If I stand inside it shooting. I have the Recnagel peep as well. Works ok, but I just don't like it. Anyways- Some guys like the daughter, and some guys like the mother. I happens to like this old style peep sight. With a second thought. Some guys take both |

I like that Rigby style peep. But the question is how much? A genuine Rigby peep these days, fitted to a Rigby Big Game SSB will cost around AUD$2K. Rod . |

The cost of the sights are $295.00 and includes the adaptor for the 602. You can check out all the specifications at mclaughlincustomfirearms.com |

Thanks, at that price, one of those sights on the 602 would be good. https://mclaughlincustomfirearms.com/rigby-peep-sights/ Rod |

Quote: Hi Rino, I think those peep sights look fantastic and solve a problem. Add a peep sight to a rifle with QD scopes. Some of the posts on there are talking about a peep sight where thge scope mounts would go, so one not the other ... I have been looking off and on for a .30-06 CZ ZKK 600 with pop up peep sight for some time. No 600's at all, well almost none. There is 7x57 currently but I couldn't re-barrel that! I would keep it. The plan has been to rebarrel a .30-06 to .318 WR. But I do want a peep sight as well, so one of these would be better than nice, *** BTW when posting photos if the extension is an apple extension, ie .jpeg instead of .jpg, use an URL instead of image codes. Then people can just click on it to view it. These forums can only use 3 digit graphic extensions. Will give it a try.
