I think that Doug Haner (the guy with the comment below the article) sum it up perfectly. I like my National match but an out of the box M1A (even in 6.5) isn't going to make a 1000yd match rifle.

I wonder what modifications they made to the gas system. The Garand/M14 gas system is pretty finicky with the pressure curve. It will be interesting to see how these hold up.

They used to offer them in 243Win many years ago, so I guess they have it sorted.
