I love my .577; but I suppose I could live without it. My DR Merkel 470 would be one I want and my 375H&H Bolt gun would handle most any hunting situation from Whitetail on up if I had too stop there. I have a Steyr SSG69 (308win), that could/does double for 2 and 4 legged animals. Ive got a O/U and SxS Baikal 30-06; but Id like to have something "better" in that caliber as its pretty much a universally available cartridge. Im torn between a classic Bolt gun and a shorter full stocked 18-20 inch "carbine". Im sure I should have some "sporting" rifle in 223; but I havent picked one yet. Something in 6.5x55 calls my name from time to time; but I always seem to find something else for my money; could be because I havent found THE 6.5x55 yet. |

My Westley Richards .470 double rifle..is one.. For sentimental reasons..my Grandfathers Winchester .22 rifle..as well as my fathers Remington 22 rifle.. Really like my HS in 300 Ultra-mag..have a mauser action custom in .416 Remington I really enjoy along with a few Coopers and couple customs in calibers from 280AI, 6.5/284, 257 Weatherby and 220 Swift... But of all, think the WR is the biggest KEEPER... Ripp |

Can anyone do without a 22LR so that is one Rabbits to way out there with my 20 VarTarg so that is 2 Goats etc with my 6.5 GM so that's 3 then something in the large deer category, so 7x57 or 303 so that's 4 and 5 I believe that will take care of what I can ever financially look to hunt so that is minimum for me but then there is the fun shooting so ------------------------- |

My 7mm Mauser. One rifle, one planet. I wouldn't kick a good clean Army and Navy 450/400 out of bed though. |

My classic Brno. 22 will Be in the safe forever. Love my Merkel 470 and my custom 404 (although the 404 is reasonably new it seems like it has a permanent place!). My Sakos are all likely to be with me for a long time too! |

I can't see not having a Farquharson of one type or another. That, and a good BPE double rifle. |

Need vs desire. For need: - a rimfire for the daily rabbit or three. I prefer my CZ .22 magnum. - a .222 for similar. My M03 Mauser fits this. - a medium game, longish range hunting bolt action rifle. Either my M03 in 8x68S or a M98 .30-06. Or both. - a smaller big bore bolt action or a double rifle in a similar calibre. My M98 in .375 H&H Mag at the moment. Maybe a DR in the flanged version one day. - a big bore double rifle. My Jeffery .450 No.2 NE for this. - a brush / close action medium bore rifle. A BLR .308 fits the bill for a quick shooting handy rifle. |

the Drilling is THE gun, the barrel insert in 22 lr makes it a rimfire too second gun I would hold is the Mauser in 9,3x64 |

Dakota 76 traveler safari in 9.3x62. Cast 230gr loads are fine for the little stuff and 300gr Hornady solids work for the big stuf. In between you have the 250gr Barnes x tipped. If I could only have one, this would be it I think. |

I love #1 but their stocks are awful and the barrel much too heavy. |
