Hell is coming for breakfast..
|
|
Took me a while to get the time to put this together, get powder in todays world and do some shooting..finally got a chance at it yesterday...while I know this isnt for everyone..my personal experience is what a machine..impressive accuracy beyond what I thought I was capable of..will post more as the loads are developed..the range I was at yesterday only went to 450 yards..there is another close by I heard of that goes to 2000..while I certainly dont plan on attempting anything close to that at this point..having a go at 1000 would be fun..
The gun is Sako TRG-42 in 338 Lapua with a 5-22 x56 Nightforce Zero stop scope..Warne 20 degree base
Thx

I think they would be fun to shoot for something different. For some addictive.
You'll have to keep us up to date on your progress.

These guys may have served in Afghanistan and caught the Afghan soldier "manlove" addiction ...

Ripp keep us posted with your load development and how she shoots. That is one impressive piece of kit.

I was going to use H1000 but have not been able to find powder to warrant that process..did come across a bunch of Retumbo which I have been told and have read works very well also--so when I get back home I am going to use 300gr Nosler Accubonds--fed match 215 primer--lapua cases and retumbo..so how it goes from there..will keep you advised...
I hve a good friend who has developed a H1000 load--as soon as I get my hands on more of it I am goig to try his as well
thx Ripp

Very nice Ripp.
I have a friend in Townsend who can help you many more metres than you think. In a well tuned rifle with a bit of training a 2ft target at 1000 is esoteric. A mile is a bit more .......
I have had very erratic performance with ReTumbo, H1000 is indeed the way to go. My go-to in the Lapua is 92grs/300SMK/Fed215. In a shortened rechambered WBY accumark barrel I used the 250smk and 245 boretech with some amazing results.
