Small ring Martini Henry - customisation?

I have a small ring (I am assuming this) Martini Henry in I think it was .320/.250.
It was a Victorian Colonial military arm. I plan to keep it as a wall hanger, however I am wondering if the action is suitable for a custom rifle of some sort - ie I may look for another one if this is the case.
Does anyone have any experience with customising these rifles, and what sort of cartridges are suitable for the action?
I'm thinking of cartridges such as a .17 K-Hornet, a .22 Hornet, a .22 Hornet Improved, .221 (?). What about some sort of 6mm?

There is a website, British Militaria, and, on this site, is a Martini-Henry Forum. Lots of info of the sort you are seeking. I found it while looking, same as you, for info on a .32-20 Martini I found up here in Alaska. I'm still debating whether or not to pick it up. These things, according to the forum members, have been converted into quite a few different and interesting calibers as well as the original .310 Cadet. If you have a problem finding the site, let me know and I may still have the info around here somewhere.

Went to the site but couldnt find the martinie forum. I went to britishmilitiria.com. Tried it twice and got the same site. Delt with clothing if you could what should I have typed in. Thanks.

The little Kadet rifles are quite nice for customizing! I've done several over the years. These little rifles were made by BSA, and were chambered for the 310 Greener cartridge. This cartridge is very close the the American 32-20 Win. There was someone in Aussy land that made a "RIMMED" 222 Rem Mag case specificlly for use in this rifle, and it made a real nice combo for hunting Coyotes, Dingo, or Roos. The 22 centerfire is legal for deer here in Texas, and I've taken whitetail, and muledeer alike with these little rifles chambered for 22 Hornet, 22 K-Hornet, 218 Bee, 222 rimmed, and one rifle chambered for 30-30 Win. There used to be a shop in Michigan called SNAPP'S GUN SHOP, that specialized in BSA Kadet conversions, and these lettle rifle were real popular in the USA, back in the 50s, and 60s.
I still have several origenal barrels, and stocks for these rifles which I rebarreled, and restocked. Fun little guns, and well worth spending money on!

I have one we build back in the late 70's, and chambered it in the 256 winchester, it has made a great groundhog rifle

Your post caught my attention real fast. I enjoy the Martini's. I am in the process of restoring one. It is a Francotte style Cadet that is in 297/230 Morris Long.
I am in need of barrel bands and cross pins. By any chance did any of those Cadet you customized start out as .297/230 Morris Long. I would be interested in talking to about the remianing parts.
I am consulting with Bob Snapp in helping a couple of fellows who are planning on reintroducing all new Martini Cadets.
.307 Winchester is to fat* to fit a Cadet Action. Because of the small barrel tenon the chamber walls would be too thin and you would have to load down anyway. Better off with a 30/30 as your biggest cartridge in the Cadet.
You shoot the 30/30 in a cadet and you will think it is a completely different cartridge than what goes through a 1894 Winchester.
The Hot big game cartridge for the Cadet right now is the 7-30 Waters.
*I had the word "long" in there instead of fat, but the truth is that it may be also be to long as well fat...DD
