I picked up a Sako Trg-s in .300 Win mag a year or so back, took it out and shot a stag with it and some other animals about the farm here but i never liked the standard black colour of the stock and recently a buddy in the US gave me the heads up on his own mate that is doing paint jobs on rifles. A deal was done and I sent the stock over to the US and she is winging her way back at the moment this is a pic of the actual stock. Sambar hunters special! Nothing like having a radical and safe colour eh! |

Depending on what the use of the rifle is, I can appreciate a stock like that. It would be very suitable for a dog handler while moose hunting up here for example. |

Gryph, My eyes! I used Erik's Mauser M03 in 7x64 moose hunting with its "plastic" stock but it was plain boring old black. Worked though. |

My other rifles are cammed in "ordinary" colour schemes JH and this Moth Wing Orange is also done in a green too,I like the look of it also. As you know I do quite a lot of Sambar photography or at least try to and I will do my own ob`s on the deer with this colour scheme.Of course with 18,000 registered deer hunters in Victoria alone having a bit of orange on or with you has to help, mates of mine even have squares of BO sewn onto their day packs as an extra insurance. I was impressed with Jason from Barking Spider Graphics and his service between Oz and the US especially when straight off he said with no hesitation "no probs I will deal with Australian orders" to my initial query. I have an R licence for NSW and contacted them re the mandatory orange to be worn in State Forests whilst hunting...it doesnt fit their requirements so a BO cap still needs to be worn...safer all round eh! http://www.barkingspidercamographics.com/ |
