Do all CZ550 9.3x62's have the deep recoil lug dovetail cut under the barrel? Seems a properly bedded 9.3x62 certainly doesn't need on. |

Properly bedded and pinned, they'd not need the extra recoil lug. It depends somewhat on the loads and stock wood, Rod. I put an extra lug on my first .375/06IMP. The stock was a soft piece of beautifully figured claro - the more figure, the softer the piece, I guess. It was a Fagen Reinhart stock and used to break every 1,000 rounds or so. The lug was after pinning behind the aciton lug and through the wrist - still used to break - different place very time. It was a fast barrel and turned in exceptional terminal ballistics. The splitting about drove me crazy - never broke with the .458 2" barrel on it and I used to run 2,060fps with 510gr. WW solids, 2,300fps with 350's - those were soft in comparrison to the 510's. It's possible the .375 had a 'sharper' speed of recoil that was so hard on the stock. I can't see an extra lug needed for 1923 9.3x62 ballistics which many people seem to use today. |

Daryl: Thanks. I agree as stated in my question. What I am asking is whether or not all factory CZ550's in 9.3x62 have the dovetail and notch. I just had my rifle rebarreled and the barrel they used {said to be a standard 550 take off barrel in 9.3x62} has a barrel recoil lyg set in a deep dovetail under the chamber part of the barrel. I thought that odd and wondered if all 9.3x62 CZ550's have them. |

Daryl, Your 458 2in loads are near factory 458Win full loads , I was going to build a 458Win Mag on a Brno 600 action (30/06 size) to end up with a nice light work rifle , did you just use 458Mag cases cut down to 2in , which means a full case would work to , how many rounds did the magazine hold ? Thank you |

According to CZ, they all have them. |
