Took a few pics of the bush this morn.

A couple of the Pom fella`s were interested in the bush hunting here so I took a few pics today for them.

This morning I went and had a "look at whats about the traps"
A mix of a few hinds and spikeys were evidenced as they left their marks in some of the swampy mud.It was as dry as a wooden god at this time last year btw.

First pic is the same wallow from the opp side, second pic looking from the wallow up the drainage line and the rest were taken from around/going in this morn,a mix of sword grass, ferns, blackberry and other assorted shit with a few trees mixed in.
A nice open clearing has another unseen wallow in it on the camera side of the white gum.
Its actually a perfect place for erecting stands but getting them in would be a real trial and would have to be done in sections, preferably by a few of my beefy son in laws lol.Cant see that happening!
A couple of marks in the mud has me excited for the coming season.

Yes there are serpents, none seen however I killed a tiger in my garage a few days ago.
This morn I donned cabs briar jeans for their double thickness and gumboots (wellies) I normally don`t go into the swamp at this time of year but it was actually a bloody cold morning, prob too cold for a Joseph.
A lot different to Katherines weather though we had a 43C the other day
Pleased to see a few marks, fresh enough to peel the eyes.
Claydog,its about a three day drive,one way.

At about 150 kms per hour or 3 person per day staged driving!

One of Claydog's neighbours I think did Adelaide to Katherine in two days though ... add an extra day from Eastern Vic to mid North SA, a couple of Vic speeding fines, loss of licence in a few months, and away you go. The Vic copper love interstate licence platers speeding. I know from numerous personal experience.

Looks very wet. Lush and green. And muddy! Gryph, do you wear the gum boots walking up and down the slopes as well?

Unbelieveable this year, we have green grass paddocks and green hills instead of dry brown and yellow, or bare earth.

Coolest summer in 50 years according to one idiot box news TV report.

'do you wear the gum boots walking up and down the slopes as well?'

The GB`s are for the swamps and creek areas mainly.Lace ups for the rest.

Re: Took a few pics of the bush this morn.

Only have to go over the top of the range and its also leech city.
I must relate the tale of how I had one sucking on my ear drum for 30-40 minutes...one day when I have time.
