I'm off to the Territory to hunt water buffalo and pigs in ten days time. Will be flying up due to work needs in the next ten days otherwise half of them would be spent driving. Planning to take my .450 and .375, camera gear and with all that weight not much else I think. Going to be great fun I hope. |

Hey Ann.............. Up here thats COLD It did warm up to about 15-17 at night but then dropped back to 4-5. The locals are predicting a short dry season and another big wet. |

Wet, eh? Well, it's been nothing short of monsoons here since early spring. I am surrounded by lightning now. A few years ago I woke up in the middle of a February night rather chilled. The furnace was out. Do you know why it was out? It was so cold outside the heating oil froze. How cold was it? It was 36 degrees below zero F. |

Probably my last post on this thread until I get back. I do plan to take a good number of photos and post them here. Plan to use a nice new digital still camera, a crappy digital video camera which hopefully will be OK plus my old SLR. Would like to leave the SLR behind but the Aussie mags still insist on transparencies. Hopefully will get a pic with a nice trophy water buffalo and a big boar or two. Plus some live shots. Packing at the moment for Saturday. For firearms taking my .375 and my .450. They will weigh a tonne in a limited weight allowance. Got to do some more reloading tommorrow as I blew away some .450's today. That's the plan at the moment but the culling starts when it all gets weighed. |

Back again. Was a successful trip. Plan to post the stories soon and the photos. Both I and the other guy took good bulls and looked over tonnes of other bulls. Fantastic hunt. Also was lucky to meet up with Bakes at Darwin airport where he was meeting some RAAF guys and also a shoot and dinner with Marrakai. All up an enjoyable short trip and whetting the appetite for more. Story and photos being added here. |
