Dave, I like the Ruger No.1 very much, I had three already but the ones we can buy here are not of the same quality than the rifles You can buy in the US. I am convinced that the importer in Germany made a deal with Ruger and is buying the poorest quality guns with the poorest quality wood to sell them for a high price to the stupid Germans. My very first rifle was a Ruger No. 1-S in .338 WM which I had buyed in New York State, and I have never seen this level of quality again on a Ruger No.1 in Germany. I am regretting that I sold this rifle but the caliber is just too much "high speed" for my kind of hunting so I sold it for a very good price. I like the Brownings because of the very good quality and the exposed hammer, much more safety while carrying around and then J.M.Browning was a genius in my opinion. It`s just a matter of personal preference, I think both are very good hunting rifles. Kalunga |
