I don't know what the "official" line is, but I don't see why you shouldn't use the same LOP. I shoot 14 7/8 in shotguns too and just about every factory rifle I have owned or shot has been too short for me, especially American ones. I have always preferred rifles with stocks 14 1/2 or longer, but so far I have not been fitted for a rifle stock, as I have with shotguns...
