Hi, my thougts have circled more and more towards a DRdrilling. I currently have a conventional drilling, but with my hunting I'd be better off with one that sports two riflebarrels, not only one. I'm thinking of either a Mathelon MXD(L?)fox, or Merkel 691L in 9,3x74R/20/76mm Are there anyone who have owned or used the spesific brands I refer to? I'd be very happy to hear from you, and get some advice. If someone has used the older Mathelon/ Merkel DRdrillings that would be of great use too. I'd like one that has three locks and no modern cocking device, so Krieghoff Optima is out of the question. How durable are they? I've heard they're more likely to develop slack as the riflebarrels lie rather high above the hingepoint? Is that true? I reckon what is tight and fine from the factroy will remain like that as long as the gun is used correctly? Anyone who has experienced different? The Merkel is ready for a pivot mount, and is the model that I can obtain for "less" money, that seems like a good deal. BUT I'll go for the one that is most likely to keep fit for the longest time. I have a Merkel DR that I'm very pleased wit, but have seen several merkels that has gone loose.. So I hesitate about choosing Merkel.. Any reason for it? (A "tailormade" DRdrilling from Ferlach is WAY OUT of my pricerange, but they are probably even lighter an better made) |
