I am in the process of building a 3 1/4 on a J. P. Saurer action but the project is taking a lot longer than expected. I was therefore looking for an additional option to get a 450 up and running and the Ruger 458 conversion looked like a straight forward, relatively simple approach. The question of breech-block clearance was/is really the only obstacle. From all of your comments it appears that I should get on the stick and rechamber a 458.
