Are you going to do your own pad? If so, Brownells is a good source and, if you have a commercial account the price is right. If you're going to have a 'smith install the pad, you'll find many of them stock the Deccelerator due to its popularity. There is a red version out now if that tickles your fancy. Another benefit to the Deccelerator is it is one of the pads that can be leather wrapped quite nicely if you're feeling handy with your hands. Sure looks a cut above. As for sights, we have recently been discussing this very subject. See the thread, "Sighting Survey", at http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=single&Number=6474&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 Nick Adams lends a good deal of info on regarding irons and such. My newest big bore #1 sports an NECG rear aperture combined with their 3/32" white bead up front. Actually, I am currently 'beadless' as I just shot the damn thing off into outer space! Replacement is on the way... My preference with the NECG rear is the .125" aperture disk (it comes with 2, the other being .093"). Not a ghost ring, but a nice happy medium for me. The NECG works well for me but I sure wish it weren't so painful to the eyes. Surely the boys at New England could give the thing a bit more beauty and grace. Check out the thread above and shoot well tomorrow. Regards |
