OOOHHH, MAN! I just gave away my extra set of RCBS 8X57JR dies to a new drilling owner friend in Las Vegas. He may sell the drilling. If he does, I'll get them back. THAT DBL SHOTGUN SET LOOKS TO HAVE A 9,3 BARREL FROM THE PHOTO. ??? ![]() The proof date is often on the bottom barrel near the chambering designation (7.8 X 57 or the like) It will read month, then year in most instances...9/19 for Sept 1919, etc. If it is in the 30s, you will have a pre-war gun made at the right time. It is my opinion that the mid 20s to late 30s guns were the best. Just sell me the damned thing and be rid of all the anguish over these issues! Man, you are hard headed.
