Re: Engraving ideas for a singleshot project

That's an interesting idea about the takedown case and the dowel. Certainly had not thought of that.

He had a really quick turnaround on his rifle. Maybe they can build one for you and get it out the door in 6-8 months, but wasn't the impression I got from them at the ACGG show in 2004 or from talking to them on the phone. Of course, I was the one that told them I didn't have a problem in waiting for it. I would like to get mine as soon as possible, but am not in a big hurry for it. I'm fully prepared for a 24-36 month turnaround for the swamped barrel, sights, and engraving options. I figure that will add quite a bit of time. I just want it to be "right" regardless of the time taken. Figure I've waited about a decade to even place the order, another year or two or three isn't much in the scheme of things. I would like to take on the MP sheep hunt, when it is booked, but have a rifle that is perfectly capable for that now. God willing and things pan out, this rifle will do some traveling in the years to come.

Are you going to have Hagn do the flat checkering on yours? I couldn't believe how nice that is compared to the regular pointed diamond checkering. I guess it does take a little more time to do, but I think is worth it.
