Surely this is a converted muzzle loader.
Very fascinating as it still has the hooked breech and the original case modified to fit the new Snider patent breech!
That could explain the Lion engraving - perhaps it was a 450 in its previous life and the Snider breech, pushing the chamber forward some inches, made the 442 the logical choice.

Very very cool in my book.
