If that nipple is a 1/4X28 thread, you could easily make a primer firing device using either large rifle/pistil or small rifle/pistol primers. I made one back i n the late 70's as I couldn't get percussion caps in Smithers, B.C. This like shows a picture. They were noted in "The Muzzleloading Cap Lock Rifle" by Ned Roberts.
