Hello guys! I'm new to the site, and like this tread! I hope I'm not too late to join in. I had a Ruger #1 in 458 that was fun, but not practical. I love the gun beause it had a custom stock to my length of pull in maple and walnut laminate. I had the rifle rebarreled to 7mm STW stainless steel, heavy contour by Shillen. I love the gun, but it is heavy! I am not complaining, I'm a big guy! I have a factory Ruger #1 7MM STW in stainless as a companion gun. I like the idea of the 9.3X74R as a conversion for the Ruger #1. I own a 9.3X74R Valmet double, and I like to have more than one long gun in a caliber. Thanks for the G R E A T idea that you put in my head. Glenn |
