True - Scotch Brite in the maroon colour has saved a couple bores for friends.
It's also good for 'freshing' out a new cut rifled barrel that may have 'feathers' on the lands.
Any mfg'r that pulled a button through a rifled tube will not have those.(as is done by some muzzleloading barrel makers)
Should mention, I did not use the material dry, but "lubed" with WD40.
