Not often that I like anything French
I never understood how you could judge someone or something based on their origins or their country. I'm willing to believe that some don't like France, it's true that it's an old, very old nation with a past steeped in history. It's also true that you can judge the French to be proud, contemptuous, rude and unfriendly...although the same can be said of all the others depending on your point of view. Don't be angry with me if I love my country, and whatever you think, we have done great things and we are among those who have brought great progress to humanity...despite our terrible shortcomings. Now, when it comes to single shot rifles, we, French people at D&D, are not ashamed to compare ourselves to others.

One should never be reticent to love ones country and stand up to unwarranted criticism of ones country, especially with such politeness and style.
As for the French, while dealing as a tourist with some can be annoying, ane with their tourists abroad, the French people I have known personally, visiting their gybnakers, personal friends, have always beed very hospitable, very friendly and generous. No need to go into being invited to sray with them and inviting them in return. Always 100%.
French culture is also very rich, from the wines and food, the hunting and countryside, the magnificent buildings and history.
Hopefully I can visit a fifth or sixth time one day.
