I was all set with the 38-55, then 405Win started tugging at my brain. Both are great cartridges. I have a "new" Winchester 1895 in 405 Win so a (Malcolm) scoped single shot sounds cool too.....then I found a company DAMKO that make new Martinis.

They are a mid size gun (larger than a Cadet and smaller than a Martini Henry), so their cartridge selection and options are limited to 25-35Win, 30-30Win, 30-40Krag, 303Brit, 357Mag, 44Mag. I talked to the folks at DAMKO, they will do a 38-55; but 405Win and 577-450 wont fit. The guns start at $1800.00.

My fallback, and something making more and more sense to me, is an Encore (in one of Turnbull's colour cased frames). With an Encore I can have both 38-55 and 405Win and toss in some nice wood???
