I am sure that some civilian Sniders were made for the civilian sporting market. That arrow engraved through an S must mean something to someone out there. Yours has the later latch to stop the breech block popping open by accident.

I have a similar but smaller Rook rifle one in .380 calibre - definitely made for civilians!
