A whole lot of guys are using the 260 gr bullet for deer hunting and are fairly successful. I'd rather use a good cast flatnose bullet for deer ever since I saw a mulie rolled end over end a few years ago. I was still lugging an 06 while my partner decided to use his 375 with cast bullets. His favorite bullet was a 320 as cast bullet that had the same POI as his 300 gr JSP. His shot was just over 200 yds, which I thought was a long shot with a cast load at that time. The thing was, he practiced with the thing every weekend to make that shot. If you don't like cast bullets, you can always use a 270 gr JSP for a slightly flatter trajectory.
