The safety rotates from side to side. It engages the sears and the triggers. I initially tried a traditional sliding safety and it worked ok. What I like about the lever safety is it’s simpler in design, stronger in it’s engagement and no matter how hard I whacked the action from any angle, it never disengaged or allowed the striker to fire. It also operates a little easier. The single shot I have pictured above has the sliding safety as it is the prototype. It works well of course and also blocks both the sear and trigger, but all of the rifles in the future will have the lever safety that is on the Rising Block double pictured in the DR forum |
