Capt Curl, great shooting & nice looking 44 1/2.

Both 4227 and 2400 work great in the 25/20SS. Years ago, a number of shooters used Unique. I would think that 4198 may be too slow.

The barrels on Stevens are somewhat soft and for long term use, work best with cast bullets. I believe the twist is 1/14". These barrels will not stabilize long bullets. The heaviest bullet it will stabilize is a 86 gr cast bullet.
