Just picked up this nice little Swinburn's Patent rifle. Calibre is 500/450 #2 Musket, as confirmed by a chamber cast. External has a bit of a "speckled hen" look to it. Internally the barrel is excellent, and should be a good shooter. Just waiting on cases and dies now to be able to bring the old girl back to life, it has not been fired in over 40 years. [image][/image] A close-up of the action reveals some light engraving towards the bottom of the action on the left hand side. We believe it says - "James W Honier" on the top line and "Melbourne" on the second line. After quite a bit of looking, I can't find much about that person at all.
