I am surprised as well. But, just maybe it has worked, especially if the bullets are deeply seated. I guess what bullet is expected or needed to be used is another question.

Too, those long cases do not work well with a lot of modern powders, however I got my Sharps M74 in .50 3 1/2" to work, if just kicked like hell.

Acccurate Arms had some good data for that case years ago.

Hodgdon's Annual Manual also lists .50 3-1/4" data with both 425gr. and 515gr., both Lyman moulds. Even the 515gr. is making almost 2,100fps, at well under 30,000cup. With Varget, the 415gr. is almost hitting 2,300fps, as 28,100cup.

Lyman also listed data in #45, but their data is very soft. This round is not listed in #47.
