Funny, other than the OP I have not seen any mention of the Ruger No.1 or No.3. In some ways they are not the best but in some ways they should be ranked with the best. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more of them floating around than any other falling block single shot action. Love them, hate them, they've made a beeeezilion of them since 1967 and they are still making and selling more.
